Town Parks Plan Draft Available Online and in Library
A draft version of the proposed Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) for the Town of Washington is now posted on the Town website at www.washingtonisland-wi.gov/minutes/park_minutes/recreation_plan.pdf
The CORP is also available in the Library in hard copy as well as on a disk that can be used in one of the Library computers.
The Parks Committee of the Town of Washington has been working on the CORP since April 20, when the Town Board gave the Committee the go-ahead to work with JJR, a consulting firm in Madison, to assemble facts and figures about Washington Island’s parks and also propose how the parks can be improved over the coming five years.
This document is necessary for any future proposal that the Town might make for outside funding for improvements to the Town parks and recreation facilities.
The Town Board was expected to discuss the draft of the CORP at its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 18.
