observer-logo-small7th-8th Graders Go All-Out for Valentine’s Day

WASHINGTON ISLAND, WI, January 28, 2010 – The Washington Island 7th and 8th graders are planning to travel the Island in groups on Valentine’s Day Sunday, Feb. 14th, dressed in Valentine’s garb and delivering a large homemade chocolate cookie and card, singing a song and reciting a poem at each door.

For $10, you can order a singing Valentine for someone you love. If you have special requests for a song and/or poem, the students will do their best to accommodate them, otherwise they will deliver their standard Valentine.

All proceeds go toward the 7th and 8th grade 2010 Washington D.C. trip. The 7th and 8th grade classes consist of Oliver, Josie and Jesse, Marina, Katy, Lillie, Sophia, Hannes, Laura, and Brittany.

A Valentine’s Day brunch is planned for Sat., Feb. 13th, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The brunch is at 9:00 a.m., followed by an hour-long program presented by the 7th and 8th grade students. During the program students will share funny and heartfelt songs, poems and stories all related to LOVE, some of which will be their original writing.

The students will assist in decorating the tables and serving guests a breakfast of egg casserole, scones, muffins, fruit and beverages prepared by Celia and Paula. Party games will entertain guests while the meal is shared.
